  • CogAT: May 26th (Thursday)
    8:30-8:45 Arrival
9:00-12:00 Testing for all 3rd-12th graders

The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) consists of three batteries that provide separate scores for the following reasoning/learning abilities: verbal, quantitative (numerical), and nonverbal. This is an ability test. It is recommended to be given every 2-3 years.
This test is not an achievement test and can not be submitted to fulfill the requirements of Ohio regulations. Combining achievement tests and learning ability tests will help you develop reasonable expectations for your child’s progress, based on his or her abilities. Once you discern whether your child is reaching his or her academic potential, you can understand how to tailor your teaching to your child’s learning style. This test can not be ordered individually. It is only available in a COMBO pack with the Iowa Basic of your student's grade level.
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes Testing Time
*This testing time does not include the time needed for administering, examples, or student breaks.

I understand that I am reserving my student’s seat for Melissa Hamilton to administer and return completed tests to BJUPress Homeschool Testing to grade and email test results to the email address provided to BJUPress Homeschool during the ordering process.
I understand that it is my responsibility to order my student’s test from BJU press no later than April 23 BJU requires a minimum of 4 weeks from the time an order is placed until the testing date to ensure that the test arrives on time. Orders placed later than April 23rd require placing a phone order with BJU Press Homeschooling ( 800.845.5731 or 864.770.1317) and may be subjected to a rush shipping charge by BJU Press.

I understand that my student needs to arrive at the appointed time and be present on all days that are required to administer the appropriate test.

I understand if for some reason an unexpected illness occurs and my student does not attend at the time the test is given, arrangements will need to be made with Melissa Hamilton to make up the test. The test is only allowed to be held for a short time and must be made up quickly before the test becomes invalid. If a test becomes invalid, an alternative test (an alternate form) must be purchased from BJU press. This will also result in an additional administration fee.
